This is Exam 2 for my Physical Geology course. It covers chapters that pertain to geologic time, the Earth's interior, earthquakes, and deformation of rocks.
What learning is this evaluation activity designed to assess?
The first two parts of this assessment are on geologic time. In part one, students must answer 2 concept sketch questions on relative age dating. Students must demonstrate their understanding of relative age dating in order to draw the concept sketches. In Part 2 students must combine relative and absolute age dating to answer the question and demonstrate an understanding of order of geologic events and rates of deposition.
What is the nature of the teaching/learning situation for which your evaluation has been designed?
My court is broken down into 4 section and this is a section exam.
What advice would you give others using this evaluation?
Make sure students understand what is expected of them for the concept sketches.
Are there particular things about this evaluation that you would like to discuss with the workshop participants? Particular aspects on which you would like feedback?
