I teach a hybrid course with ~200 in the physical room nd another ~100 participating from away. All teaching is synchronous using a streaming server but I worry that the 'distant' learners don't get the immersion and may lose focus.
On the other hand, I'm seeing groups of distant learners gathering at their dorm where they can participate and discuss among themselves. They find THAT environment to be even better than being in class.
