With Laurel Bradley, Director of Exhibitions, Carleton College
Boliou HallWednesday, June 15, 1-5 pm
Thursday, June 16, 1-5 pm
Friday, June 17, 8:30am-12 pm
"Curating" is no longer the exclusive tool of connoisseurs and backroom museum staff. Participants in this workshop added exhibitions and curating to their pedagogical and scholarly toolkits with this workshop engaging staff and faculty from across disciplines in practical processes and theoretical constructs. The workshop helped participants to think about developing an exhibition within their discipline, be it global theater, anthropology, or French and Francophone studies. Ultimately, participants learned that exhibitions are a dynamic vehicle for public scholarship, and a great medium for student object-based learning assignments.
The "Curating the Curriculum" Workshop served as a launching pad for future exhibition projects across campus and in the Weitz Center for Creativity .
