Teaching Online - Some Quick Thoughts
Pamela Bogdan, Engineering & Industrial/Technical Studies, Ocean County CollegeJust a quick note about teaching online.. asynchronous methods are hard, especially as the topics become more complicated and the steps to create an engineering solution become more complex and have more options. The loss of interactive dialog in small units gives way to a less customized educational experience for students.
Synchronous methods are overcome this obstacle and quite frankly provide professional skills for the student heading into distributed teams. It also, in my opinion gives a more flexible and wider range of options for assessment that do not suffer from some of the integrity issues that can be found with online education.
