Grade Level
Supporting Student Success: Focus on how to support students across their full education career. This includes fundamental educational access issues, attending to the whole student, academic and professional skill development, and facilitating the transition from education to career and citizenship.
Product Dissemination: A focus on helping publicize and raise awareness of the outcomes, products, and findings of project work. This can include activities such as presentations at professional meetings, writing manuscripts, running webinars, and writing press releases.

BTSE works to accelerate change in higher education and teacher preparation by developing 1) a bridge between institutional efforts to improve instruction and national initiatives offering programmatic support and 2) a community of practice increasing the interactions among and reach of the consortium organizations. This website portal provides faculty and students with information about geoscience education at two-year colleges. Faculty can learn about teaching materials, find information about workforce development and geoscience careers, and learn about professional development opportunities. Students can find out about scholarships and educational opportunities. SERC facilitated connections between the contributing projects and hosts the website.

Geo-Needs
Geo-Needs was an NSF-funded project that sought to explore barriers and opportunities for enhancing geoscience instruction at 2YC and MSI institutions so that these student have greater opportunities for employment in the geosciences. SERC hosts the project website, including the final report, as well as facilitated the workshops that informed the project and report.
