SERC Role
- Content Expertise 2 matches A focus on SERC staff writing disciplinary content for a project. Many SERC staff members have advanced degrees and all can contribute a wide range of content knowledge to projects.
- Education Research 1 match A focus on facilitating or conducting research on what works in the STEM classroom across a variety of levels and contexts. Project foci include student assessment, spatial reasoning, teaching and learning practices, influence of professional development, influence of open education internet resources, influence of Communities of Practice, and levers of change in higher education.
- Event Development/Facilitation 4 matches A focus on planning, organizing, and supporting in-person or virtual events as part of a project's activities. This can include logistical support, program development, session facilitation, and all other aspects of running successful events.
- Materials Development/Review 3 matches A focus on supporting the creation of new pedagogic materials addressing some specific content area, pedagogic need, or educator audience. This can include aspects such as the technical infrastructure to support authoring, management of author teams, and facilitating expert review prior to publishing.
- Product Dissemination 3 matches A focus on helping publicize and raise awareness of the outcomes, products, and findings of project work. This can include activities such as presentations at professional meetings, writing manuscripts, running webinars, and writing press releases.
- Professional Development 1 match A focus on putting together opportunities for project participants to learn new skills or content related to the goals of the project. This can include activities such as synchronous or asynchronous events, self-paced materials, and creating an enduring record of activities for use after the end of project funding.

CLEAN
The CLEAN Pathway provides a reviewed collection of classroom materials for teaching climate literacy and energy awareness for students in grades 6-16. Hallmarks of the project include the collection of educational materials, a set of pedagogic strategies for teaching these topics, and an ongoing series of professional development events for teachers and faculty. SERC provides the web platform for CLEAN as well as the tools utilized for review.

Innovations in STEM Teacher Preparation
Following on to the NextGen-WA STEM Teacher Preparation Project, this website is designed to provide a curated set of resources for people working in the STEM K-12 teacher preparation space. Resources in this collection include peer-reviewed publications, white papers, descriptions of innovative curricula and courses, activities, tools and case studies written by STEM teacher preparation experts from around the country. These resources are designed to be useful for STEM teacher preparation stakeholders across the United States and beyond. SERC provided website support as well as website logistical support for project-led events.

Using the Neotoma Database in the Classroom
The goal of the Neotoma project was to leverage the Neotoma Paleoecology Database in the classroom to teach biotic response to climate change. SERC hosts teaching modules and related teaching activities.

This project promotes students' civic and scientific evaluations of sources and alternative claims when confronted with controversial and/or complex socioscientific issues in the Earth and environmental sciences through Lateral Reading (LR) and Model-Evidence Link (MEL) scaffolds. SERC hosts this the website which provides supporting teaching resources for K-12 teachers.

SERC has partnered with collaborators across disciplines to create a multi-disciplinary collection.

Earth Educators Rendezvous
The Earth Educators' Rendezvous is a semi-annual conference featuring a combination of workshops, posters, talks, round-table discussions, field trips, and plenary presentations. SERC manages the conference logistics, supports the conference programming, assist the planning committee, and hosts the conference website.

Microbial Life
This project aimed to provide a contemporary resource of expert information about the ecology, diversity and evolution of micro-organisms as well as common research techniques used in the field for students, K-12 teachers, university faculty, as well as for the general public. It was a collaborative project of the Marine Biology Laboratory, Woods Hole, MA, and Montana State University, Bozeman, MT.

Climate Education in an Age of Media
The CAM project developed approaches to bring student media production into climate change education in ways that are engaging, empowering, and can be readily adopted in a wide range of instructional environments. SERC partnered to host this collection that includes guidance on supporting student production of climate change videos as well as example student videos.
