About Me

I'm an environmental social scientist with a background in conservation, tourism and outdoor recreation, and STEM education. I'm originally from Maine but have recently found myself in Colorado and New Jersey for work. In my (abundance of) spare time, I enjoy nature walks, reading a good book, and being bossed around by my cat.

Focus of current FEW-Nexus-based education work

I teach courses that broadly fall under environmental studies and tourism and outdoor recreation. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of human-environment systems, my classes often intersect with food, energy, and water. Many of my classes focus on climate change and environmental justice, so we particularly intersect with energy and water systems.

FEW-Nexus-based education experience, expertise and interests

My expertise relates to tourism systems, climate change, and the Northeastern US. I bring a social science lens to case study development and have experience developing lesson plans using best pedagogical practices. I would be especially interested in working with biophysical scientists and colleagues with in-depth expertise in environmental justice and non-Western science worldviews. While familiar with these topics, I would not consider myself to be an expert and would appreciate learning from those with more knowledge.
