How can we harness the power that schools play in shaping mindsets and practices to effectively shift towards a culture that honors the complexities and interconnectedness of human and environment health, and that responsibly responds to the urgency of climate change? In this session, we explored the concept of Whole-School Sustainability which results when practices aimed at reducing environmental impact, improving health and wellness, and increasing sustainability literacy are holistically integrated throughout a school's physical place, educational programming, and organizational culture. We'll then heard from Midwest exemplars of Whole-School Sustainability regarding their approaches and the impact of this work in their school communities.
