ODP 171b K/T Core Observations
Summary
This activity provides a way for remote, hybrid, and face-to-face students to examine the K/T core (evidence for the impact that caused the extinction of dinosaurs) by recording their observations.
Context
Audience
This may be used with upper elementary - high school students, when studying sediments, geology, or geologic time.
Skills and concepts that students must have mastered
Observational skills
How the activity is situated in the course
This may be used as an introduction, inquiry piece, or as a way to explore evidence.
Goals
Content/concepts goals for this activity
Students will make observations regarding the K/T core.
Higher order thinking skills goals for this activity
Students will synthesize ideas.
Other skills goals for this activity
