Hooks for teaching about Food

Hi Foodies!

I'm working on a National Academies project that is creating activities for young adults related to food. We are focusing on the relationships between food, human health and environmental health. Within that is a lot of turf :)

We are wondering what you are finding as the hooks related to food that interest your students. We are particularly interested in knowing what interests students from different SES groups .
Many thanks in advance for any insights you are willing to share
