Shenzhen, China

Formative Assessment: Google Earth

Google Earth: Fly to Shenzhen by clicking on the city's name in the Google earth My Places pane to the left of the screen.

Repeat the same basic steps for Shenzhen as for Guangzhou. Bear in mind that Shenzhen lies just south of Guangzhou and is next to Hong Kong. See regional profile here.

Begin with a view in Google Earth at approximately 10 mi eye altitude (see screen shot below).

As you can see, Shenzhen is built around Shenzhen Bay and the elevations are variable. Focus on the lower lying shoreline areas in the western portion of Shenzhen Bay, near the bridge linking Hong Kong to mainland China.
