For the Instructor
These student materials complement the Coastal Processes, Hazards and Society Instructor Materials. If you would like your students to have access to the student materials, we suggest you either point them at the Student Version which omits the framing pages with information designed for faculty (and this box). Or you can download these pages in several formats that you can include in your course website or local Learning Managment System. You have been provided with an Excel file that you will use for this assignment. You have been given an entire dataset from Victoria, British Columbia. This will serve as one of your three required sites. You will need to select data from two different areas of the globe, preferably in different oceans/countries to add to your assessment. You may not choose one of the sites used for examples in the specific instructions.
Select sites that have data records that extend back at least 30 years (preferably 50 or more years of data). It is best if you start with the longest and oldest data set first!
