Background Information
Dr. Alan Green is an Associate Professor of Economics and department chair at Stetson University, a liberal arts college in DeLand, FL. Dr. Green is a development economist and his primary research interest is in how political institutions such as property rights, contract enforcement and civil liberties may limit or enable economic growth in developing countries. He also conducts research on teaching, which includes work on the use of simulations and experiments in the classroom. He is currently studying ways to effectively implement active learning in economics through team-based learning in introductory, intermediate and general education discussion-based courses. He is excited to share his ideas on TBL and learn from excellent collaborators in this project.
