Registration Tips
- Selecting a morning workshop is part of your registration. Register early to ensure you can enroll in the workshop(s) you are most interested in.
- Afternoon events (mini-workshops, poster and oral sessions, the share-a-thon, and other events) are open to all registrants.
- If you are leading a workshop or presenting a poster or talk, you must register for the meeting.
How to Register
Registration is open for the 2026 Earth Educators' Rendezvous! When you fill out the registration form, you will be asked to select morning workshops and pay the registration fee. View the workshop program to learn more about your options. Then complete the registration form with your preferred form of payment.
Registration for field trips on Sunday and Friday is separate. Register for one or both field trips by completing the field trip registration form.
You can also sign up to receive updates if you aren't ready to register yet.
Registration Fees and Policies
Registration fees include access to the opening reception, morning workshops, and afternoon events (mini-workshops, poster and oral sessions, the share-a-thon, and other events). Field trips on Sunday and Friday have additional fees. Meals and lodging are not included in registration.
Early bird (by May 5, 2026): $600 non-NAGT members/$530 NAGT members
Regular (starting May 6, 2026): $670 non-NAGT members/$600 NAGT members
Join NAGT before registering to receive the member discount.
Field trips have additional registration fees to cover the cost of transportation:
- Sunday: Geomorphology and Flooding in Congaree National Park: $75 (includes lunch)
- Friday: Peachtree Rock Heritage Park: $50
Financial Support for Participants
Stipends are available by application to support participation in the Earth Educators' Rendezvous.
- Travel Stipends: A limited number of stipends are available to mitigate the costs of travel and broaden access to the EER. The application deadline is April 15.
Several workshops have stipends to support participation in those specific opportunities:
- Academic Career Prep Award: Graduate students and post-doctoral scholars who register for the Preparing for an Academic Career in the Geosciences workshop are eligible to apply for a limited number of stipends. Learn more about the award and apply by April 15.
- Instructional Design: How to write an elearning tutorial style quiz to advance scientific computing in your classroom: Participants who complete the full workshop will receive a $100 stipend. In addition, if you submit a final e-learning tutorial for review after the workshop, you will be eligible for an additional $100 stipend.
- Beyond the breaking news: Using land surface hazard data to teach earth systems connections to intro geoscience students: A limited number of $100 stipends are available to eligible participants* to support participation in the workshop; we will prioritize 2YC instructors and other applicants who teach land surface hazards at the introductory level. Apply using this stipend application form.
- Getting the Most Out of Analogies in the Geoscience Classroom: This workshop is offering $200 stipends to 40 eligible participants*. Preference will be given to faculty and instructors currently teaching introductory or upper-level undergraduate geoscience courses. The stipend will be disbursed after participating in all the activities in this 2.5 hour workshop at the Rendezvous. To be considered for a stipend, please complete this form.
- Data, Place, and Pedagogy: Engaging Students with Urban Earth Systems: We are able to offer $125 stipends to up to 15 participants who attend the full UCZ Data, Place, and Pedagogy mini-workshop. Stipends will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to participants who complete this stipend sign-up form and participate in the entire 2.5-hour session. If fewer than 15 participants sign up in advance, the remaining stipend slots will be filled the day of the workshop, with participant information collected via a sign-in sheet.
