Workshop: @ EER 2019 - Teaching Introductory Geoscience with Data and Math in a Societal Context Using GETSI Modules

Workshop Pre-Survey

Thank you for registering for the "Teaching Introductory Geoscience with Data and Math in a Societal Context Using GETSI Modules" workshop. The GEodesy Tools for Societal Issues (GETSI) project is working to develop and disseminate teaching resources for undergraduate courses that feature geodesy data (GPS, gravity, InSAR, lidar, etc.) and methods, applied to critical issues.

This pre-survey is intended to help conveners better understand participants' incoming knowledge and interests and the institutions and learners they serve.

Workshop Goals

Participants will:
  • Be able to teach more effectively about geodetic data and methods, including using math skills
  • Be able to integrate societal challenges and interdisciplinary solutions into earth science courses
  • Make implementation plans for adopting elements of the modules and/or teaching strategies into their courses

The conveners will see your name associated with your responses, but your answers will not affect your stipend eligibility or status in the workshop.

3. With what level of students do you expect to use these teaching materials? (check all that apply)

4. Please rate your knowledge prior to the start of the short course on geodetic methods and applications.

5. Please rate your practices in teaching with data and quantitative skills.

6. Using the drop down menus below, please rank your order of interest in the workshop topics:
