Disseminating CLASP Resources, Products, and Services Workshop Program

Jump down to: Meeting 1: July 25 | Meeting 2: August 1 | October CLASP Annual Conference

Workshop pre-meeting work

  • Read two briefings developed by the convening leadership team on this workshop's two topics: (1) delivery of resources (documents, recordings, tools, PD events etc.) currently happening via the Collaboratory, and (2) delivery of professional development in the form of virtual offerings like coffee talks and webinars. These briefings will also be provided to registrants via email.
  • Create a SERC account, if you do not yet have one. You can use the form on the right side of the account page. You will need this to access materials for the discussion groups during the meeting.

  • Welcome - Cailin Huyck Orr
  • Zoom breakout rooms icebreaker - spend 2 minutes in your randomly assigned small group breakouts to introduce yourself. - Monica Bruckner
  • Brief introduction to CLASP GRANTED and the workshop, including identifying resources and materials that currently exist (broad overview) - Beth Jager
    • Professional development in CLASP
    • What we are trying to do today - focusing on the delivery mechanisms and setting aside the content goals for now.
    • Note: we use the word 'resources' to mean documents/tools/webinars to help CLASP community do a better job and also funding/technology/time needed to invest in CLASP. Let's be careful to be clear when we're using each meaning.

0:10 Action plan: Strategies for one or more goals leaders have for this workshop (30 minutes total, 15 for each of the topics)

  • Framing for this conversation: If we think about five years in the future, what do we envision these two delivery mechanisms looking like:
    • Collaboratory 2.0
    • Virtual Professional Development

Breakout groups: Use your group's workspace page (private to workshop participants) to take notes. Each group will talk about mechanisms for delivering content: file sharing (currently via the Collaboratory) and virtual Professional Development if resources (time, money, technical infrastructure) is no object. Please also identify someone to share out one or two ideas from the group's discussion.

  • For each topic discussion
    • Discussion of what is already being done: what are current strengths, who are stakeholders
    • What could this delivery mechanism (Collaboratory 2.0 or virtual Professional Development sessions) look like in five years if resources were no object?
    • If content-specific ideas, or other things that are off-topic come up and you want to capture them, please use the "Parking Lot" heading in the notes page to keep track of these.

Please feel free to add new ideas not mentioned or note corrections to ideas from the synthesis document.
    • By the year 2029, what priorities do we want to have accomplished?
    • What projects should we focus on in the next year or two?
    • In terms of volunteer power, please list any projects/priorities that you would be particularly interested in working on in the next one to two years. Would you be willing to join a small team on this project/priority? If so please note the priority/project and your name.

0:45 Report out from groups and synthesis - Cailin Huyck Orr
