Context for Use
Description and Teaching Materials
1. Go to the home page for Good Guide (http://www.goodguide.com/) Click on and view the video introduction. Then click on "Your Personal Filter" to create a shopping cart made up of personal standards to filter out what kind of products will pass and fail your standards.
2. Find 3 products that you now use and analyze it by using the barcode scanner offered on the mobile application. (Apple and Android products)
3. Next, look through the category that your product is in and find the health, environment and society ratings. (if your product isn't there, find the best alternative product in the category that is available locally)
4. After completing the rating of each product, type up your new and improved shopping list.
5. Decide whether or not you will be using these new products and explain why or why not.
6. Finally, write a short description (3-5 sentences) on each product explaining why it is better than your current product.
