Learning Goals

At the end of this class, a student will be able to: 1.descript characteristics of a digital image 2.classify objects based on information in the image 3. evaluate the classification performance of the computer-vison techniques.
MATLAB will be used through out the activity. The workspace in MATLAB helps student to understand the digital image representation. The student will be challenged to adjust a color threshold for maximum accuracy within a limited time.

Context for Use

This material is an introduction to computer vison for undergraduate food engineering student with computer programing basics. It can be conducted as classroom activity completed with in three hours.
