This CAREER award supports Dr. Anderson's research in tracking the evolution of microbial and viral populations in hydrothermal vents with high temporal resolution in order to identify the dominant drivers of selection in hydrothermal vent habitats. SERC provides support and expertise for the implementation and evaluation of the Broader Impacts component:involving undergraduate students in scientific research and integrating bioinformatics analysis with real data into a course.
