Part 1 –

Sadly the Pollen Viewer visualization tool no longer works; however, there are animated gifs from the website that let you see the large-scale effects of climate change in North America during past 21,000 years.

Part 2 –

Both the Pollen Viewer digital maps and the analysis software, Analyzing Digital Images, are available free on the Internet.

Part 3 –

Select an area on a Pollen Viewer map, and calculate the abundance of plant species over time within this area.

Part 4 –

Use available spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Excel or Open Office, to manipulate the data and create graphs.
