Conserving the Past for the Future - McKissick Museum Tour

Thursday 12:00pm-1:00pm McKissick Museum

Join Sarah Mielke, curatorial assistant of Natural History, at the McKissick Museum where a tour of the Rock Room storage space will be held. Over 15,000 rocks, minerals, and fossils are stewarded in this room including specimens from Thomas Cooper's own collection purchased by the state in 1823. Learn about museum practices, research opportunities and educational support, and engage in conversation regarding specimen packaging and transportation.

To join this tour, meet Sarah in front of the McKissick Museum at 12pm. This is 0.3 miles from Coker and SJMC.
