10:20-11:20 Getting Started: Advice from Experienced Heads and Chairs (Bill Dannevik, Diane Doser, Tim Bralower, Jay Gregg)
11:20-12:00 Small group discussions on selected topics (e.g., building community in the department, budget planning, managing the workload, communication and negotiation).
12:00-1:30 Lunch - Introductions, informal table discussions, Business Meeting (Don Wuebbles and Gene Bierly - overview of AGU Board of Heads and Chairs and election of four new members of the Executive Committee of the Board of Heads & Chairs), overview of afternoon program
1:30-2:40 Working with Alumni and Industry: Newsletters, Development Boards, and More - panel presentations followed by discussion

3:00-4:00 Concurrent Sessions - two or three sessions from the following list will be offered based on participant interest
