Information for Materials Developers

Materials in Progress »

Just Getting Started?

Please read the Information for New Authors page in its entirety. This orientation page outlines how new authors get started working with their team to create their materials. It explains the steps new authors need to take and provides an overview of how the process of materials development works.

  • Structuring a Module describes the basic structure of modules and outlines how the materials will be presented as a set of web pages.
  • The materials that you develop will be offered for non-commercial redistribution under a Creative Commons license. InTeGrate has also posted a screencast of a webinar about copyright issues.
  • The DAISE Materials Development Rubric builds from the InTeGrate, GETSI, and IGUANA materials development rubrics.
  • Your Module Development Timeline outlines the three-phase material development schedule and the specific responsibilities that each team must complete.
  • Use SERC's Accessibility Guidelines to ensure that your materials are as accessible as possible for as many users as possible.
  • Collecting Data in Your Classroom (coming soon) details the mechanics of setting up the data collection system for your course and collecting assessment data in the classroom.
  • Forms and Documents (limited access page) contains example IRB documents, link to example InTeGrate module (Climate of Change), the DAISE Materials Development Rubric, student attitudinal surveys, faculty reflections, the Course Setup Form (in preparation for materials testing), and DAISE document templates. You must be logged in to your SERC account to view this page.

If you have questions, please email the DAISE leader (Rory) who can help you find an answer.
