Science Communication in CUREs - recruiting CURE instructors and students
We would like to recruit your students to participate in the study. This would entail:
1. You assign our science communication training intervention to students as an assignment for credit or extra credit in your course. This intervention would take students ~1 hour and can be completed online/asynchronously as an assignment. The intervention includes a pre-survey, video training, and post-survey. The survey items help students reflect on and practice their science communication skills. The survey will begin with a consent form explaining the study to students. Students will have the opportunity to consent to their data being used in our research study or not. Regardless of whether or not they consent, we will send you a list of all students who complete the assignment so you can assign them credit appropriately. You will not know whether or not they consent to their data being used in our research.
2. You send us any science communication deliverables that students complete as course assignments – eg a poster, powerpoint, etc. – so we can analyze how students may be applying the science communication training in their science communication assignments.
Please let our research team know if you have questions!
Please fill out this form to indicate your interest in participating and tell us about the CURE course you teach: https://colostate.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_ewCAyFtsMtboXGK
