        Structure activity studies of drugs that target the cytoskeleton
        Christina Vizcarra, Barnard College
        In this CURE, junior and senior chemistry majors in an Advanced Chemical Synthesis laboratory course will synthesize analogs of a drug molecule. The drugs of interest are known inhibitors of cytoskeletal regulatory proteins. These molecules will then be assayed in the PI's lab to test for inhibitory activity and specificity. Students and the PI will generate publishable data of general interest to the research community.
