Vision and Goals

Inspiring STEM Teaching, Advancing STEM Learning

Major goals are to create, support, and facilitate collaborative partnerships focusing on STEM Education. This includes research, community outreach, teacher education and general STEM Education.

Center/Program Structure

The STEM Education Center is a unit within the Fisher College of Science and Mathematics. It is currently undergoing revision.

Successes and Impacts

The STEM Education Center has been awarded over $2,000,000 in federal and state grant funds. Our last large grant involved providing professional development to middle and high school teachers in the Baltimore area with a focus on water, carbon, and biodiversity concepts. We have reached hundreds of teachers through our outreach and professional development efforts.

Elements Contributing to Success

The STEM Education Center has the support of a strong core of science and mathematics educators that contribute to its success. There are 10 science educators across three departments, along with 16 mathematics educators who all strive to meet the vision and goals of the Center.
