Postdoctoral Research and Teaching Associate

The Virgin Islands Institute for STEM Education Research and Practice (VI-ISERP) at the University of the Virgin Islands seeks applicants for a two-year postdoctoral position in STEM education research (biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics) starting in Fall 2016. The successful candidate will conduct research on teaching and learning in STEM education and teach introductory-level courses each semester. The fellow will also contribute to curriculum development and design, initiate and/or manage grant proposals for external funding in STEM reform, and complete other relevant projects.
The successful applicant will be part of a team of researchers, faculty, and teachers that comprise VI-ISERP, a newly funded initiative supported by VI-EPSCoR with funding from NSF. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in science, science education, or a related field; have a strong research record in discipline-based STEM education research; and have demonstrated excellence in teaching. Preference will be given to applicants who have a record of successful work with middle or high school teachers and/or students, have evidence of collaborating well as part of a team, and possess an interdisciplinary background.
