Workshop: Transforming Geoscience Preparation for K-8 Pre-Service Teachers

This two-day workshop explored strategies for strengthening K-8 science teaching, through both science content knowledge and science teaching methods. It showcased the collaborative, integrated delivery of geoscience content and science methods at St. Norbert College, as well as other successful strategies identified by workshop participants. The workshop was open to science faculty, education faculty, and in-service science teachers. Teams of science and education faculty from the same institution were particularly encouraged to apply. Participants' housing and meals were be paid for by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
