The Using Data in the Classroom project was active between 2003 and 2010. Much of the content dates from that time period and so may not be up to date. We are preserving the content here because it still contains useful ideas.

The Activities Collection draws from newer projects across SERC. You may also want to explore the Data and Models resources discoverable through Teach the Earth

Browse the DataSheet Collection: Educator-oriented Guided Tours of Datasets

Each DataSheet highlights the key information educators need to use a specific dataset. They provide information about the location of the data, its uses, and interpretations and make specific links to pedagogical resources and activities that can be used in teaching or by students. Data sheets are available for a selected collection of datasets.

Browse a Larger Collection of Links to Datasets and Tools

This is a browseable collection of links to websites containing data, and tools for working with data. Each site is briefly summarized with a description and links to SERC resources that reference the site. While it does not provide as much supporting information about each site as the DataSheet collection (above), this collection covers a much larger group of resources.
