Learning Goals

chemical kinetics, particial differencial equation, fundamentals of numerical methods;
Matlab is used to run the code and postprocess. the code is associated with physical phenomenon. it will be more tangible for students to understand the physics and numerical method.
yes. critical thinking is very important to analyze the results. the students will know how to run the code, how much it takes to run one simulation, how to organize the project, how to present it, how to optimize it.
yes. report writing, oral presentation are strongly required to complete this project.

Context for Use

This is graduate level study;
it is a long project. it takes about 2-3 months to know the fundamentals and the codes;
need to know the basics of Matlab, how to install, run, modify Matlab code.
it helps me understand the pyrolysis model very well. With AI tool, it is moderately difficult to adapt the activity for use in other settings.
Learn how to run the code, how to read the code, how to find the specific part of codes in order to know how to modify it.
