Marine Reserves and Local Fisheries-an Interactive Simulation

Worldwide, many local fisheries are declining. Coral-reef fisheries in particular are especially susceptible to overfishing and habitat degradation, and it is increasingly important to try to balance the needs of dependent local fisheries and marine biodiversity conservation. This interactive simulation allows students to explore the factors that influence fishery sustainability and see how marine reserves can work.
