Tracy Imperato

Tracy Imperato is a SAGE 2YC local workshop leader and Instructor at Nassau Community College. She co-convened the 2015 workshop Motivating and Improving Learning: Metacognition, Motivation, and the Affective Domain and the 2014 workshop Supporting Student Success in the Geosciences at 2-Year Colleges at Nassau Community College.

Courses

Tracy teaches Physical Geology, Historical Geology, and Beaches and Coasts.

Professional Interests

Tracy's educational interests include anything related to the history of New York City, from the rocks to the infrastructure. She is also interested in storm action on coastlines and how coasts evolve through time particularly with human interference.

Tracy loves teaching tectonics to her students. She is also very much interested in transitional fossils that show biological evolution.

Institution

Nassau Community College the largest single-campus two-year college in New York, and is part of the SUNY system. It serves Long Island, New York and is located in Garden City. Nassau Community College serves over 33,000 students - 20% of whom are African American or Black and 17% of whom are Latino or Hispanic. Five percent of the students receive services through the office of disability services.
