Travel

Air travelers should fly into the Minneapolis – St. Paul airport (MSP). To arrive on time for the start of the workshop, you will need to arrive at MSP no later than 2:00 pm on Friday, October 10. Teams of 3 or more are recommended to take a taxi directly to the Carleton Campus (approx. 45 minutes; est. $90 one-way). Please bring travel directions with you in case the driver needs additional details. A location for luggage will be provided. If travelling alone or with just one additional person, a travel alternative is service through Care Tenders--soon to change ownership as Eco Trans ($45 per person one-way w/ 24 hour reservation).

After the workshop, buses back to the airport will leave Carleton at 12:30 and so you should arrive at the airport around 1:15 on Sunday afternoon. There is no fee for this transfer.

During the conference, we will provide transportation to and from your hotel.

Directions from Airport to Campus:

  • Exit airport outbound roadway.
  • Take I-494 West to I-35W South to Highway 19 East (Exit 69, Northfield exit).
  • Drive east on Highway 19 for 7 miles to Northfield.
  • At the first stop light (where Highway 19 meets Highway 3), turn left and drive north for 3 blocks to 2nd Street.
  • Turn right and drive east on 2nd Street, continuing up the hill.
  • Turn left at College Street, which takes you directly into the campus.
  • Sayles Hill, where registration will take place, is two blocks past the main campus entrance.

Directions from I-35 via Highway 19 to Northfield and Carleton Campus

  • Take I-35W to Highway 19 East (Exit 69, Northfield exit).

Note: If driving to campus, there is no designated parking on campus. Street parking will be available a few blocks from the campus. We strongly recommend using the bus service during the workshop.

Technology

Teams are encouraged to bring at least one laptop to the workshop in order to prepare their action plan.>/p>

In addition, wireless internet will be available in the general session conference room.

Workshop Fees & Cancellation Policy

The application fee for the workshop is $75.00 per person. The fee includes all meals (from Dinner Friday thru Lunch Sunday) and workshop materials. Participants will be invoiced before the workshop. Project Kaleidoscope accepts payment by check or credit card (Visa or Mastercard only); payments will not be accepted at registration. Participants are responsible for the cost of lodging and travel. Workshop cancellations must be made in writing to Project Kaleidoscope at applications@pkal.org. Full refunds will be provided to those who cancel by 5:00 pm Eastern on Wednesday, October 1. Cancellations received after this date will not receive a refund. Full workshop fees will be charged for "no-shows" (no refunds will be given). Registrations are transferable within an institution.
