Canopy Lens

Image Description: Canopy Lens by Hannah Imlach. When installed viewers were able to walk around and underneath Canopy Lens, looking up through the hexagonal lenses. The sculpture allows the canopy to be simultaneously viewed from multiple perspectives; some details of leaves and branches viewed to scale, some magnified, while others appear as blurred shapes, out of focus. I think the immersive style works really well for a general non-specialist audience as it makes them question their immediate surroundings.
