The most effective way to develop geoscience skills in your students is to make opportunities for them to practice those skills.
The Activity
I show some images of geologic features/puzzles and have students describe, interpret, and then discuss what other information they would need to be able to make a better interpretation of the images or evaluate their competing hypotheses.
