Retreat Logistics
Facilities
The first annual LCC4 Retreat will take place on the campus of Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota (campus map). Retreat sessions will be held in the newly renovated Nobel Hall of Science. St. Peter is a small college town about an hour southwest of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. June weather in Minnesota can be unpredictable, please check the weather before arriving and come prepared. The buildings that we will be utilizing on campus are all located within a few hundred yards of each other.
Wifi Access
Guests of the College can connect to the Gustavus wireless network without registering. More information is available on the Gustavus website.
Travel by Air
Air travelers should fly into the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport (MSP). It is approximately 1.5 hours from MSP to the GAC campus by car. Please schedule arriving flights to arrive on Monday, June 5, no later than 3:00 pm in order to arrive in time for the opening dinner. Campus vans will be arranged, organized by arrival times, to shuttle you to the Gustavus Adolphus Campus. Departing flights should be scheduled no earlier than 3:30 pm on Wednesday, June 7, to allow time to reach the airport after the final session.
Additional options for ground transportation include a commercial shuttle (Land-to-Air Express) or renting a car, at your own expense.
Lodging
The project is paying for lodging on GAC campus in Southwest Hall. The plan is for apartment style single occupancy rooms arranged in groups of 2-4 around a common space (view floor plan). All rooms have air conditioning although this is often not necessary in June in MN.
Please note, due to campus activities happening immediately before and immediately after the retreat, GAC cannot accommodate early arrivals on Sunday, June 4th, or late departures on Thursday, June 8th. If your travel needs necessitate either of those options, you will need to procure a hotel room for the portion of your trip that is not between June 5th and 7th.
If you wish to make your own lodging arrangements, there are some hotel options in St. Peter.
Meals
We will have a combination of dining hall, catered, and boxed meals during the meeting. All meals will include vegetarian offerings and other accommodations as needed.
COVID-19
We believe that time spent face-to-face establishing relationships and trust is important for building successful teams, and we are making efforts to ensure everyone's ability to participate safely. Because this workshop is being hosted on the Gustavus Adolphus campus, we are subject to their policies.
Registration and Travel Information
Please fill out the registration and travel info form by April 26, 2023 so that we can arrange ground transportation, lodging, and catering to accommodate dietary needs. If you have questions about travel or lodging, please contact Julie Bartley (jbartley@gustavus.edu).
