IE3: Meaningful evaluation of effective and inclusive teaching
Changing policy, supporting faculty development, and identifying optimal sources of evidence (LCC4).
Welcome!
Learning Community Cluster #4 (LCC4) began with a vision that new teaching evaluation policies, self- and peer-assessment and evaluation tools, and sources of evidence tailored to measure, highlight, and reward inclusive teaching would go a long way towards disrupting exclusionary norms. Inclusive and effective teaching are widely stated values in higher education. However, specific standards and sources of evidence for inclusive and effective teaching are rarely articulated or assessed–even at moments of high-stakes evaluation such as appointments and promotion. The collective effort of this community of practice led to the development of inclusive teaching evaluation tools (e.g., rubrics, measures, case studies) and built the capacity of faculty at their institutions for their use through professional development.
Learning Teams
The Learning Teams (LTs) form the core of the work of LCC4. Read more about the teams' goals and accomplishments.
