Background Information

After graduating with my PhD in Economics from the University of California, Riverside in 2016, I immediately began teaching at San Bernardino Valley College. At SBVC I teach Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Statistics for Business and Economics, and Intro to Economics. I also serve as the faculty advisor for the Alpha Gamma Sigma honors society chapter at SBVC.

I am very interested in Open Educational Resources and how to make the cost of schooling more affordable. Since my second semester at SBVC I have employed exclusively OER in each of my classes and have spend the last several semesters customizing and editing existing resources to cater specifically to my students. I am also interested in alternative classroom techniques and how to make lecture time more productive and more accessible to students.

I have populated all of my courses with group work, in-class activities, and applications of economic theory beyond the text, but I have not employed a formal TBL strategy. I am eager to learn more about TBL and am hoping to reach a comfort level to experiment with my courses in Fall 2019.
