Workshop Discussion

Welcome! Below is a set of discussion forums developed for the June 2018 TBL Workshop at SERC. There are three initial discussion threads:

  1. Introductions: Please use this thread to introduce yourselves to other workshop participants - who you are, background information, involvement in economic education, things you like to do...
  2. Question 1 (from the workshop pre-reading emailed to you): If we were to use strategies within the Dissemination quadrant (Figure 1 in the Change Magazine article, "Facilitating Change ...") to promote TBL teaching practices in economics, how can we improve them to make them more likely to affect lasting change (given the challenges laid out in the "Use of Research-Based Instructional Practices..." article)?
  3. Question 2 (from the workshop pre-reading emailed to you): How can we design supports for use of TBL teaching practices in economics that move us out of the Dissemination quadrant to create even more impact? What would that support need to look like for different institutional contexts?

Please provide responses to the three discussion threads by June 14, and comment on each others' posts. You can also create new discussion threads by using the "Create New Thread" tool below.

Below are links to the articles that were emailed to you previously - they are the foundation for Questions 1 and 2 above.
