As part of the Belonging On the Cutting Edge workshop, an NSF-funded evaluation is being conducted to investigate participants' perceptions about the meeting and the influence of the meeting activities on participants.

You are invited to participate in a survey designed to investigate perceptions related to the meeting program.

Participation in the survey is voluntary. You may discontinue your participation at any time.

You will be asked – but not required – to provide individually identifying information in the form of a name and an institutional email address. Your name and email address will be used to match your responses on this survey with additional meeting surveys (application, roadcheck, end of meeting). Names and email addresses will be replaced by the evaluator with codes and a data file linking codes and email addresses will be stored in a separate, secure location. All findings from the surveys will be presented in aggregate; your name or email address will not be linked to your responses.

If you have any questions about this survey, please contact Dr. Cailin Huyck Orr, Associate Director of the Science Education Resource Center (SERC), at corr@carleton.edu. The chair of the Institutional Review Board, Justin London can be reached at Carleton College, Northfield, MN 55057 [(507) 222-4397, jlondon@carleton.edu].

By clicking on the Submit button below, I indicate my consent to participate in the survey.

We believe that showcasing the individuals who make this project a success engaged in the work together is a critical part of increasing the reach and impact of the project. To that end, we will be taking photographs of participants in action during the 2024 workshop. We use photos like these to enhance the quality of our website and print publications as well as project documentation for NSF and the whole community.

As a participant, you have the right to opt out of having your photograph taken by project staff at the event. We'll make our best effort to avoid capturing your image in photos we take at the event. If we inadvertently capture your image in a photo that gets posted on the website, please let us know so that we can remove it promptly.

Note, this opt out does not apply to photos that might be taken and used by others who attend the workshop. Individuals who have opted out should endeavor to alert photographers should they see someone in their vicinity taking pictures, so that they are not accidentally captured in crowd shots.

Attribution for original contributions will be made whenever possible.
