Christopher Gentry is a Professor of Geography in the Department of Geosciences at Austin Peay State University. He earned a B.A. in Geosciences at Indiana University Southeast and a M.A. and Ph.D. in Physical Geography from Indiana State University. His primary research integrates the fields of biogeography, dendrochronology, and spatial analysis to investigate landscape-scale dynamics and disturbance in forested ecosystems. He was selected to be the State of Tennessee Geography Steward by the National Geographic Society from 2018-2020. He has served on the Executive Committee of the Tree-Ring Society and as a Co-PI for the North American Dendroecological Fieldweek where he helped develop and implement codes of conduct and ethics for both organizations. He has been a trainer for ADVANCEGeo since 2020.
