Based in Washington, DC, Amanda Shaffer is a professional coach and consultant who's practice is defined by its dedication to advancing equity, inclusion and social progress.
With extensive experience implementing organizational change initiatives through National Science Foundation (NSF) ADVANCE programs, Amanda facilitates discussions, interactive workshops, and retreats around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) topics such as Reducing Implicit Bias, White Fragility and Bystander Intervention.
She has developed career advancement and DEI programs for a range of universities on topics such as Cultural Humility & Awareness, Building a Mindful Career, Intentional Communication and Conflict as Opportunity. She also offers individual and group coaching for executive leaders, emerging leaders, and mission driven professionals using a wholistic, intersectional lens.
Amanda has served as a consultant and screenwriter for several Diversity, Equity and Inclusion videos including the Implicit Bias Search Committee Training videos for the Higher Education Recruitment Consortium (HERC), for which she also provided a toolkit.
A Gestalt Professional Certified Coach (International Coach Federation), Amanda draws upon her training in Emotional Intelligence, Appreciative Inquiry, Mindful Facilitation and Cultural Humility to make complex topics accessible through collaborative learning.
