Article based on conversation with Barbara Waxman and the candidates I teach at WWU who engage in mindful practice.

Description

In a curriculum overcrowded with content and bounded by evaluation and grades, the sense of competition is parallel to the urgency of completion to get on to the next task or class. This essay discusses the protocol/strategy used in a college level classroom to set conditions for quiet and mindful practice as part of the class culture.
