Analysis

Look at these three sections taken from topographic maps. Given your need to have a view of the river and the need to have your house qualify for flood insurance. Where would you locate your house on each one of these maps?

Synthesis

A dam will be constructed in the river that flows through your town. Cite at least three positive impacts and three negative impacts of the dam. Be sure to include specific processes of stream erosion, transport, and deposition in your discussion.

1. Look at the following hydrographs Develop a prioritized action plan to begin transforming water A to B. ( instructor note: provide hydrographs showing a flashy watershed with urban stream—A ; provide a second, showing a hydrograph from a forested watershed—B ).

2. Look at the posted topographic quadrangle of fluvial environments. Argue (evaluation) for/against the septic field development potential on this map Place a red sticker on areas depicted on the map that have severe limitations for septic fields. Place a green sticker on areas where septic field development could proceed. Justify your assessment.
