Project EDDIE is comprised of three initiatives. Click the buttons below to navigate to people who are involved in coordinating each Project EDDIE initiative.

Earth & Ecosystems Environmental Data Macrosystems

For more information about the project, please contact us.

People - Earth and Ecosystems

Catherine O'Reilly (Pi/PD)

Illinois State University
Department of Geography, Geology and the Environment
Professor

Catherine is the Lead PI on Project EDDIE Earth and Ecosystems. She leads the development of new Project EDDIE Earth and Ecosystems modules, conducts the revision of existing modules, and helps coordinate Project EDDIE workshops.

Cailin Huyck Orr (Co-Pi/PD)

SERC Carleton College
Assistant Director Program Management

Cailin is the SERC project lead (and is on leave from the project in 2021). She has worked closely with the Project EDDIE team to coordinate Project EDDIE's extensive professional development program.

Thomas Meixner (Co-Pi/PD)

University of Arizona

Professor

Tom coordinates the development of hydrology modules, assists with workshop coordination and helps assess student learning.

Dax Soule (Co-Pi/PD)

Queens College - CUNY
School of Earth & Environmental Sciences
Assistant Professor

Dax coordinates the development of environment and Earth science modules. He also assists with workshop coordination and assessment of student learning. Dax also develops and assesses statistical vignettes that accompany Project EDDIE modules.

Ellen Iverson

Brittany Ciancarelli

University of Arizona
Program Manager & Advisor

Brittany is leading a group of instructors in a study to assess how effective the Climate Change Project EDDIE module is when used in online teaching. This study involves teaching this module in the asynchronous online modality at multiple universities in the USA, as well as to multiple levels of students in various majors (both science-related and non-science related). In addition, the group is also developing resources and best practices for instructors to adapt EDDIE modules to be taught in both the synchronous and asynchronous online modality.
