SERC Welcomes New Science Education Associate, Rory McFadden

Rory McFadden (he/him/his) will join SERC's Implementation Team this June as a Science Education Associate. Bringing over a decade of experience as a member of the geoscience faculty at Gustavus Adolphus College and Salem State University, Rory holds a Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota, an M.S. from the University of Wyoming, and a bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester.  

As a geoscientist, his research focuses on mountain building processes, using structural geology and petrology.  In education research, Rory studies quantitative skill use and the impact of professional development programs.  In addition, Rory has been both a partner to SERC, as a workshop and webinar leader and website contributor, and a SERC team member, as a geoscience associate.  Rory's expertise in teaching, research, program implementation, and leadership are valuable additions to the skilled staff at SERC, and we look forward to bringing him on board in his new position.
