A Webinar for 2YC Grant Officers: Supporting Faculty in Grant Writing
This interactive one-hour webinar is part of the Developing and Writing NSF Proposals: A Virtual Workshop for 2YC Geoscience Faculty program. The proposal writing workshop will support teams of 2YC faculty with at least one earth scientist in developing, writing, and submitting proposals over several months. Workshop assignments include developing a budget for the proposed project and gathering information from their grants office or the person who would submit an NSF proposal at their institution.
Recognizing the important role that grants officers play in the proposal development and submission process, this webinar is for the grants officers from the 2YCs with faculty participating in the proposal writing workshop. The webinar will provide an opportunity to share strategies for supporting faculty in the grant development phase and other pre-award tasks. Depending on participant interest, it may also include sharing of strategies for post-award support.
The interactive webinar will be led by three experienced 2YC grant officers:
- Adrienne Price (Mt. San Antonio College),
- Matt Swenson (Green River College)
- Troy Tucker (Suffolk County Community College)
The webinar will be valuable as a way to share practices that support local collaborations between 2YC faculty and their grants officers and will build connections among 2YC grants officers across the country. It will also help institutions better support faculty grant development and encourage innovation through NSF opportunities.
