1. Why did you decide to use E-CURE a second (or third) time?
2. Over time, did you find that E-CURE implementation became easier, harder, or about the same as when you first used it?
3. Have you changed how you implement E-CURE in any important way(s) (e.g., timing for releasing and completing steps; how you discuss E-CURE with your students; among other things.)
4. What would you tell a colleague about E-CURE to encourage them to use it in their CURE? Please be as specific and detailed as possible because a goal of our NSF project is to expand the number of faculty using E-CURE.
5. Has your experience with E-CURE influenced your approach to teaching in other courses? If so, how?
6. Feedback on changes to E-CURE:
We would like your feedback about several changes we are making to E-CURE. Please comment on the following changes:
In response to questions about students misplacing automated emails a feature was added to make it easier for the CURE instructor to understand what emails have already been sent and exactly what the messages were. This allows instructors to provide the lost information to their students. This is available by expanding the view for a particular student within the dashboard and clicking on the new 'emails sent' option.
To make it less confusing and easier to adjust deadlines all students in a class are now tied to the same set of deadlines which can be adjusted in one location: at the bottom of the dashboard. Previously, once set initially dates could only be adjusted one student at a time.
In the case where students miss one of the class deadlines the instructor is sent a single email listing all the students who missed the specific deadline. In the past a separate email was sent to the instructor related to each late student. This should greatly reduce the number of redundant emails received by the instructor.
We envision, but have not yet implemented, another change to reduce the number of emails instructors receive. We will eliminate the notification emails currently generated when each student completes their assessments and replace it with a single email that alerts the instructor when the deadline arrives to review all the student assessments and contact the students that missed the deadline reminding them to complete the step(s).
7. What else might we consider doing to further improve E-CURE?
8. We anticipate another round of pilot implementation of E-CURE in Fall 2022. Please let us know if you are interested.
Thank you!
