Background Information
My teaching interests are studying how effective active teaching techniques like POGIL are in the diverse community college classroom. I am also interested in how traditional undergraduate research activities can be structured to develop student skills and prepare them for transfer to the four-year college.
Related Pedagogical Projects
Most recently I have been the leader of a multi-institutional Undergraduate Research Collaborative that studied research models that engage community college students. I have also been involved in the ChemEd Bridges Project, which tried to identity and develop untapped talent among early- and mid-career community college chemistry faculty.
