Instructor's Materials
The "A Civil Action" book and movie can be integrated into high school, college undergraduate, and graduate courses in a variety of ways. Given below are links to descriptions and suggestions for three ways that instructors already have employed to use the website materials and "A Civil Action". The Instructor's Activities & Assignments modules contain descriptions and suggestions for implementing each of the 13 Student Learning Modules.
- Teaching an entire mock trial course, which can use all 13 student learning modules and all the resource collections
- Teaching portions of a hydrogeology course, which can draw from six student learning modules and the resource collections
- Teaching portions of integrative courses, which can use any of the student learning modules and resource collections
The three "A Civil Action" courses, listed above, for which resources are provided all utilize the Student Learning Modules, which include assignments and activities for students that draw upon the Resource Collections. Alternatively, you can create your own course by perusing the Overarching Societal Questions raised in "A Civil Action" and Key Issues in the Trial and using any of the other resources within the website.
